Three Things

I didn't get all the Spring Cleaning I planned to get done this weekend, and also my friend introduced me to a new book series that is competing with my Spring Cleaning time, so let's deviate from our regular scheduled post and call out everyone (including my lurkers) to share 3 random things about yourself.

I'll start first...

1. Mr. G is one of the only white people I ever dated.

2. I grew up in a highly academic family. They worried I never cared about school so they had my IQ tested. Though the results came back higher than 130, I never had more than average grades. (because I didn't care and because I love to rebel)

3. When I was 15, I flew to Mexico to be an American Nanny for a Mexican family.

Now I fully expect all of you to leave random facts about yourselves in the comments.

Speaking of random, my middle son Seamus dressed up as a Pterodactyl and Mr. G turned him into a super hero in post-production, using Seamus' favorite music...

  1. You are such an interesting person, Gingie! I'm rather boring but:
1.) I have discovered the perfect french toast, 2.) I wrote a story for the Laramie Gazette when I was 7 yrs. old, 3.) I see ghosts.

The french toast part is the most exciting!

    1. Verbenabeth, discovering the perfect french toast is more interesting than seeing ghosts?

  2. What a great little video!
I'm not very interesting but I can share 3 things about myself: 1) The music video for A-Ha's "Take On Me" was what motivated me to get into the field I'm in today (post-production), 2) Most people think I'm an atheist but I'm really very spiritual and 3) If there's a new craft, I HAVE to try it - unless it involves metal work. I don't trust myself around such powerful equipment. I'm too clumsy for that! :D

    1. OMG I LOVE LOVE LOVE A-Ha's Take On Me music video, and yes it's in my 80's playlist on my iPhone. Very cool it inspired you to go into post-production! Wow... someone who actually tries all those crafts on the internet? You are who I wish I was!

  3. Marshall Arts Productions...that's awesome!

    1. I LOVE peanut butter and would be quite happy to eat it with every meal every day. Seriously, it's ridiculous much I enjoy it.
    2. I always liked fair skinned, blue eyed guys but ended up marrying an olive skinned Eqyptian.
    3. My name was meant to be Carolyn Elizabeth whether I liked it or not. It is the name my birth parents gave me and then (without knowing) the name my parents gave me. My parents' Social worker was so shocked when she heard my name that she went against protocol and showed them my birth record which was against the rules in 1968.

    1. Funny how we married the opposite of the kind of guys we dated. The fact that your birth parents AND your adoptive parents both named you Carolyn Elizabeth is incredible. SERIOUSLY. You should go on some talk show or something.

  4. 1. I eat my sandwiches crust first, turning it around till it forms a circle and just keep eating it that way till it's gone. I do restrain myself around others, so they won't think I'm weird. (I wonder if it worked?)

    2. I own a green beach towel with a pink flamingo on it that I noticed Lupita, the housekeeper in Showtime's Weeds series, had one just like it. I forget which season.

    3. I have a widow's peak.

    1. Oh Kim, I find your method of eating sandwiches fascinating! If we ever hang out, please eat it the way you normally do. I swear I won't make fun. (but I might take a video)

LOVE widow's peaks!! My daughter has one too!

  5. You know I read - and I don't know why I am horrible at leaving comments - especially since I blog and also crave comments :-) Okay - three random things:
    1. In high school I wanted to be a spy or an assassin. I even started out majoring in poly sci and Russian. But then I ended up in an Anthropology class and my life changed :-)
    2. In the past 12 months, I have spent 61 days at Disney World. And I am going again in September.
    3. I despise peas. And will pick them out of any food that they are in.

    1. How cool is that? You're like a real life Black Widow (Avengers). Or Agent Salt. ;)

I cannot believe you have spent that many days at Disney World! I grew up in Orlando and OD'd on it, so I'll have to say I have not been to Disney World or Land since 1995. #truestory

If I ever cook for you, I will NOT put peas in the food!

  6. I'm definitely not very interesting but I'll share 3 things.
1-Contrary to the way I appear online, I'm actually very much an introvert.
2-I once got pulled over WALKING HOME from a bar. Apparently there had been a break in in a nearby neighborhood and since I was walking home, the cops stopped to talk to me. That's what I get for being responsible and not driving after drinking.
3-I would love to write a blog but I don't think I have much interesting to say.

    1. I can see the introvert in you. But the fact that you participate more and more in social media means you're shifting to the other side.. ;)

I got pulled over once too in college, but it was a policeman who wanted my number invited me to a party in Eatonville. (That's the Florida equivalent to Compton) I gave him the wrong number.

I too thought I didn't have anything interesting to say when I started blogging in June 1996.

  7. Ok here are my 3 interesting facts

    1) I'm a trained zoo keeper! Best job ever and I want to get back into it!!

    2) I was once pulled over 6 times in 2 weeks because of the type of car I was driving not cos I had done anything wrong!! (Stupid police!!)

    3) I have a serious addiction to tea which started aged 11 when I was on hospital for appendix! They brought it round the wards every 30 minutes or so!!

    1. Tami, I'm so jealous you're a trained zoo keeper. That is fantastic! Or should I say, bloody brilliant! *giggles*

What kind of car were you driving?!

I'm so happy your addiction to tea led to my chance to drink real English tea!! xo

    2. Haha! I agree it is bloody brilliant! It's the main reason I went to Africa to work aswell!!

I was driving an old red fiesta. It was in good condition I just obviously looked dodgy!! Lol!

I'm glad I could educate you in the way of real tea I expect you to be able to make me the perfect brew when I come to visit!! ;-)
