Winter Is Coming

Feminine Friday to you all, my little gingersnaps. Are you guys feeling the winter like we are? It's getting down to the 50's at night these days in Southern California and I'm contemplating actually closing the front door & grabbing a blanket. #brrrrrrrrrrrrrr

In the news, a man called 911 five times to complain that his iPhone wasn't working and was arrested for disorderly conduct. I don't think any of the police or the 911 dispatcher are iPhone users. Otherwise they would've understood that man's distress.

After getting criticism for initially tweeting in support of the recently fired Penn State coach, Ashton Kutcher later apologized for his statement, saying he didn't know all the facts. But apparently he has decided that with all the criticism he received, he's no longer qualified to make uncensored tweets to his 8 million followers. So now everything he says will go through his management team, who will decide which tweets to post and which ones to trash.

Wah wah wah. Get over yourself and your importance, Ashton. If I can carry on tweeting after posting a ninja pic my husband took of a certain actor who played a certain vampire in a certain movie, causing my hubby to get yelled at by a certain Production Company who threatened to fire him, causing him to write an apology letter to said Production Company and said actor, and also leading me to google every blog that picked up said picture, asking them to take it down, while tweeting apologies for posting the picture... *deep breath*

...then I think Ashton Kutcher can go on tweeting after saying something inflammatory & later apologizing for it. Too bad his management company didn't proofread his blog post explaining his decision. At the end he writes, "It was a mistake that I don't think will not happen again."

Hmmm.... if two negatives equal a positive, then I think that means he will do it again.

How many of you plan to watch "Snow White and the Huntsman" with Kristen Stewart? Okay, I'm one of those that scoffed at the idea of K.Stew playing Snow White, but after seeing this trailer, I may just have to see this. Wait, isn't the huntsman the one who saved Little Red Riding Hood? I'm getting my fairy tales mixed up.

Have a good weekend and don't fly any helicopters over this diamond mine in Russia.

Helicopters can't fly past this open diamond mine in Russia. They run the risk of being sucked in!

There's an open pit diamond mine called the Mirny Mine in East Siberia, Russia. It's very deep. At over 1,700 ft deep, it's the 4th deepest mine in the world. It also has a diameter of over 3,900ft. This makes it the second largest excavated hole in the world!

The mine is so large, that the airspace above it was closed for helicopters. Due to the size of the mine, the air currents above it become really dangerous. There were a few reported cases of helicopters crashing after being sucked into the mine due to the pressures from this air flow!

  1. Hey, how come you didnt include the real picture of the Mirny mine?
It looks ways cooler than that. :)
