The Boob Factory

Boobilicious Boobday to you all, my little gingersnaps. This is a very special post, since as you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Some of you may remember last year's interview I did with the Save the Ta-tas founder, @juliatatas.

In honor of breast cancer awareness, and with the @savethetatas motto this year of "Fight Cancer Your Way, Fight Cancer Together", I have something to say. First, I love the Save the Ta-tas company because not only do they donate 50% of their profits toward fighting Breast Cancer, they fight cancer with humor. Cancer might not be funny, but boobs certainly can be.

Don't believe me? Come along on this little journey and you will see...

Cause most everyone likes breasts, in some way or another.

Nursing tots, grown men, and probably your brother.

Tastes can vary drastically, from one pair to the next.

Perhaps you like them pushed up, or falling off the chest.

Maybe you like them tiny, or larger than a house.

Maybe you like them bare, or dressed up like a mouse.

Some can make you look away, some will make you run a mile.

Are you on Team Aniston or is Angie more your style?

Maybe you like the Latin flair, or Brown is more your taste.

Or maybe instead you prefer to just shove them in your face.

So you may like them pointy, or even as the moobs

But if we don't stand together and fight, these lovely things we'll lose.

I would like to keep mine, as I'm sure you would yours too.

Cause if we lose our boobies, that will make us blue.

I hope today you had a laugh with me or maybe just a smile,

with humor we can fight that c-word that most of us revile.

Do your self-exams regularly, Boob Lube can be the lure.

Spread the word, shop away and donate toward a cure.

There are so many great products, but this one is my fave.

Leave a comment on this post, and I will pick a name.

The name I pick will win this shirt, in any size you are,

Check out Save the Ta-tas, for Breast Cancer they go far.

And now I end this corny rhyme, for excited I will be,

to see how many comments I get and who will win this tee!

  3. I LOVE this! We just celebrated a close friend's end to her medication (5 years after breast cancer treatment). This is a cause very close to my heart and I love the humour that you've addressed it with. You really should look into whether Hallmark (the Maxine division) needs a copywriter! xoxo

  8. Absolutely love the post. I agree with Carolyn, Hallmark would be thrilled to have you as a copywriter but only if it didn't interfere with your blog postings, lol. (but for real, I am being serious.) BTW, my tatas fit into a Large shirt just in case you decide to pick a childhood classmate who is also a graduate of FSU as your choice for the free shirt. 13. Just a Thank you for making me smile and showing me that no matter what size your boobies are, they are all beautiful. I am a survivor of 9 yrs now, lost my left breast at 44 yrs young. I am not a small breasted woman, so a prosthesis is difficult for me to wear, but over all I am happy to be alive and called a 'survivor'. There have been many trials and tribulations for me in my life, but one I am proud to call myself is a 'SURVIVOR'. Fight and never give up ladies, we are worth it, each and everyone of us!!! 14. While this has nothing to do with this story, while I sat in my doctors office yesterday a woman who was battling breast cancer was seated next to me in the waiting room. Bandana on her head, reading a book about fighting back in her hand. Never in my life have I felt so inclined to hold the hand of a stranger for just a moment as I did then. I did not do it now I wish I had because i wonder if it would have made a difference for her....to that woman, you are remarkable!

  16. Thanks for the post, it totally embodied the spirit of SAVE THE TATAS! I love save the tatas...I planned a Passionately Pink Pennies for the Cure Kick-Off Party this past week at my work (a funeral home in Fremont, CA) for the staff & we raised quite a bit of money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure but we raffled off a bunch of items and shirts from SAVE THE TATAS. Unfortunately I didn't win any of them! ={ oh well, all for a good cause! =}

But seriously, lets talk about Christina Hendricks. I mean...HOW DOES SHE HARNESS THOSE THINGS?!? They're like...whoa. I think mine are good sized, but GEEZ. All up in people's faces and what not. Oi. Seriously love her, though. Great role model for the curvy ladies!! : )
