Holy Tweets

Thinly Thursday to you all, my little Gingersnaps. You staying cool this summer? Of course the Aussies are staying cool. Wacky Aussies and their summer winters.

In the news, a Massachusetts city hall employee is accused of stealing 20 rolls of toilet paper from his place of work. While in custody he "pulled six tightly folded toilet paper rolls from his buttocks and groin area". What the flim flam, people??!! What is it with people hiding things up their no-no hole? Doesn't he realize by picking that as a hiding place, that the toilet paper is now slightly used?

Ladies and gents, The Pope has now joined Twitter. Now all the good Catholics can follow him, though it's doubtful he'll come anywhere near the hilarity of @holygod. I'm neither good nor a Catholic, so that rules me out. Dude creeps me out.

In an example of perfect irony, The National Enquirer has caught Chris Hanson, in a hidden video sting, cheating on his wife. According to them, he's been having an affair with this journalist for the past 4 months. Chris Hanson, looks like you've been caught.

And that's all the time I have for today. Meet me back here same time, same place for a brand new installment of gingersnaps. No really, I've got nothing planned. Yet. But today is a good day to thank your lucky stars you're not a female lightning bug.

Female fireflies typically cannot fly.

Because female fireflies (lightning bugs) have shorter wings, they usually are not able to fly like their male counterparts. Therefore, they will perch themselves on a high object like a leaf or rock wait for a male to fly by. When a male comes by flashing a signal that the female recognizes, she will transmit the same signal back. The male will then land and touch his the female’s antennae with his own, ‘smelling’ her. If the female smells like an attractive partner to him, the pair will mate.

I love how the Pope says he "launched" a new site. He hit Publish. Kinda the digital equivalent of cutting a ribbon with big scissors, no?
