Miraculous Monday to you all, my little gingersnaps! Guess what I get to do today? Tonight I'm attending the Midnight Release Party at a Book Store in San Diego with Cassandra Clare (author of The Mortal Instruments) and Holly Black (author of White Cat). At midnight, "City of Fallen Angels" (TMI book #4) and "Red Glove" (sequel to White Cat) are being released. So I get to attend the party, meet the authors and get autographed sequels. Woo Hoo! (I'm such a book nerd)
Moving on to other topics... who got fooled on April Fools?! Raise your hand if you thought I was actually moving to South Africa. (where they don't even have Dr. Pepper) If you had put the Afrikaans phrase in Google Translator, you would've seen this: "Everything I told you about moving to South Africa is a joke, remember what day it is today."
I'm not the only one having fun on April Fool's Day. Think Geek put out these two "items" for sale on their website:
Star Wars Light Saber Popsicles
Playmobil Apple Store Play Set
And even IKEA got in on the joke, introducing a new product, the HUNDSTOL Dog Highchair.
Starbucks also announced a new smartphone app called the Starbucks Mobile Pour. This is their description of the new app and it's use.
"We've all been there. You’re walking down the sidewalk with a huge craving for Starbucks coffee with no time to find a location and buy one (no "there’s a Starbucks on every corner" jokes, please).
What if the solution was as easy as whipping out your smartphone to have one delivered to you without missing a step?
Well now it is that easy, inspired by your ideas on MyStarbucksIdea.com we’re proud to introduce the exciting new Starbucks® Mobile Pour service that puts baristas on scooters. In seven of the largest cities around the country, we’re sending out two scooter baristas per every square mile to ensure speedy service.
We've even made ordering easy with our Mobile Pour app for your smartphone. Simply download it, allow it to pinpoint your location, select your coffee order and keep walking. Your fresh, hot Starbucks brew will be in your hands before you can say abra-arabica.
What's more, the Starbucks® Mobile Pour is only the first exciting development of our new mobile replenishment strategy. In the coming months we'll be introducing several other exciting (can you say "mall" and "rollerblades") initiatives that make getting your Starbucks coffee easier than ever."
If only this was real. *sigh*
In psychotic celebrity news, Charlie Sheen did his first Live Show in Detroit and was met by boos and demands for money back. Many of the show's audience got up and left before it was over, and Charlie Sheen replied to one complainer, "I already got your f*cking money!". Is anyone surprised this show bombed? Really?
Josh Duhamel is a SLIME!!! Oh wait, I read that wrong. My bad. Josh Duhamel GOT slimed at the 2011 Kids' Choice Awards this weekend.
And now it's time for... DAMN YOU AUTOCORRECT!!!
Hey, WTF??!! Seriously. I don't even have a witty comment for this one. WTF?

And that's all the time I have for today. Be good to yourselves and I'll think of you while I'm at the Midnight Release Party tonight. Oh, and if you're worried about cancer or diabetes, now would be a good time to move to Canada!
