Warty Wednesday to you all, my little gingersnaps! Thank you for making yesterday's blogoversary such a success! Verbenabeth, I don't know what you put in that virtual punch, but I was seeing butterflies. Or perhaps I just forgot to take my meds.
In creepy news, an online dating site matched siblings who had been estranged 30 years since their parents divorced, as "soulmates". At one point the sister had married and changed her surname, so as they corresponded online for months before meeting, they had no idea they were siblings.
sidenote: I don't want to know what kind of conversations they had online when they thought they were soulmates. *dry heave*
Anyway, they were fond enough of each other (again *gag*) to meet in person at a Pub. An hour into their conversation (it took them an HOUR to figure it out? WTF?), they realized they were long lost siblings.
That story is so sweet. Why are you standing so close to each other in the picture? For goodness sake, stop touching each other! Ewww.
In non-related, but similarly creepy news, Mariah Carey tweeted a picture of her baby bump. I must still be under the effects of the spiked punch because I swear I'm still seeing butterflies. Mariah better have those babies soon before she gets out the glitter glue.
Kevin Federline (who left his baby mama while she was pregnant with their second child for Britney Spears, and then got her pregnant twice) has impregnated his girlfriend and is due to be a father for the 5th time at the ripe old age of 33. Does he even have a job? For the love of all that is holy... why are women still having unprotected sex with this man? These are not the kind of genes we need to be flooding our pool with.
Jackie Chan needs to open a can of Wushu Kung Fu on the person who started the internet rumor that he died yesterday. Don't do that to my Jackie! Okay he's not really MY Jackie, but I love him. Second only to Nathan Fillion. Jackie's the reason my 3 kids are all in Kung Fu. Dear, Internet-rumor-starter: Don't make me send my kids after you. They will make you cry. Sometimes they make me cry.
In case you need to refresh your memory about how awesome Jackie Chan is, here are some clips of some of his best fight scenes.
And now it's time for... You've been smartphOWNED!!!
This is what Sumo Wrestlers do when they get together for Charades night and the word is "Origami".
Oh and one last thing I bet you didn't know...
J.K. Rowling chose the unusual name “Hermione” so young girls wouldn’t be teased for being nerdy.
In a 1999 interview with WBUR Radio in Boston, Rowling revealed her reasoning behind choosing such an unfamiliar name for her central feminine character. Hermione was originally the name of a woman in “The Winter’s Tale,” a play by William Shakespeare. The modern Hermione is nothing like her Shakespearean counterpart - her name was simply chosen for its obscurity. Rowling wrote her young witch as an annoyingly bookish individual, she did not want to discourage similar young girls from working hard in the classroom!
