Murder Burger

Mayday Monday to you all, my gingersnaps! How was your weekend? Did anything cool? Really, I want to know.

The weather in Peculiar, Missouri is a sunny 71 degrees today. That's a very peculiar name for a city. Is it a city full of peculiar people? Are there any peculiar phenomenons going on in Peculiar, Missouri? Why did they name it that?

One thing you won't find peculiar, is the fact that traffic on the 405 is bumper to bumper today. Most ordinary indeed.

Being creepy under the guise of trying to promote "health", an Oregon couple gave out candy bars, toothbrushes and condoms on Halloween.

One family complained after their 14 year old received condoms in her trick-or-treat basket. The couple said it was a mistake and that they usually give them to teens 16 and older.

"Mommy this candy tastes funny and is really chewy." Seriously, how many kids age 16 and older are still trick-or-treating? #weirdos

In celebrity news, Vin Diesel grabbed his junk in a failed attempt to look heterosexual in front of some thong-wearing sand sluts. Sorry, Vin. You're not fooling anyone. It's only a matter of time before you admit it. (yep it's true)

In other news, LeAnn Rimes is speaking out about the engagement rumors floating around. She says the report is "150% untrue".

Source: toofab

150%?? Is that like 150% out of 200%? Cause if so, that would make her like 25% engaged. Ladies and gentlemen, I think what LeAnn Rimes is trying to say is that she and Eddie are 25% engaged. Either that, or she sucks at math.

This is one of the best HELP WANTED ads I've seen. It's for a restaurant called, "Murder Burger".

Source: ridingabuttertub

I'm not exactly sure what the kitty mascot has to do with Murder Burger. Also, when it lists "the sorts of people we don't think will be good for us" I'm thinking the description of "P Addicts" actually fits the restaurant. I mean, grabbing a knife and becoming Mr. Stabby might fit right in at a restaurant named Murder Burger. Hmmmm... is this like the Double Meat Palace in which we need to guess what the mystery meat is made of? Employees that didn't fit in at work?

And now it's time for... Awesome Vintage Ad Of The Day!

"Sooner or later, your wife will drive home one of the best reasons for owning a Volkswagen. Women are safe and gentle, but they hit things. If your wife hits something in a Volkswagen, it doesn't hurt you very much. VW parts are easy to replace. And cheap... She can job the hood. Graze the door. Or bump off the bumper. It may make you furious, but it won't make you poor. So when your wife goes window shopping in a Volkswagen, don't worry. You can conveniently replace anything she uses to stop the car. Even the brakes."

It's really a shame they don't make the VW Beetle anymore. There are so many women drivers out there that hit things. I'd like to hit something right now.

Hey, WTF??!!!

It's not so much the composition that freaks me out. It's the loving look she has for Mr. Bones.

And that's all the time I have for today. I'll catch you back here same time, same place tomorrow. Until then, here's something you should know...

Charlie Chaplin once lost a Charlie Chaplin look-a-like contest. He didn't even make the finals.

  1. Hilarious! I had to muffle my lol-ing with a pillow. Apparently people prefer to sleep at 2 in the morning...weirdos =P

This weekend I worked, went to church, visited a convalescent home, and watched a bunch of movies. It involved steaming eggnog, singing, hugging on the elderly & getting lost in many cinematic journeys. Not to bad as far as weekends go.

You’re vacation photos are beautiful, btw. I’m glad ya’ll are having a great time :)

  3. YAY! Book review! I was recently surprised by a period novel myself. The Interpretation of Murder by Jed Rubenfeld. It's an interesting lil mystery.

My weekend was great! I went bowling for the first time in a year & a half and whooped everyone. Even my husband! HA! #bowlinggeek

Oh, and I started a new blog. #idiot

Ok, so chances are if you are 16 and trick or treating, you aren't getting laid. #fact

    Love. That. Wanted. Ad.

Hope you had an awesome vaca week. Loved the pics with your phone. Incredible!

  4. Well hello! I happened to be on vacation last week too and am WAY behind on your posts--going to scroll on down to the book review in just 2 minutes!

My weekend was fantastic! Spent it in Memphis going to Sun Records, posing with the vocal mike that Elvis, Johnny, Carl, Roy, and Jerry used while recording albums there (super geek moment!) and then spending the day at Graceland! DoubleSuperGeek Moment!

I LOVE the Murder Burger ad! And you're right, Mr Stabby does seem to fit in w/ their whole Murder theme. '

Oh Volkswagen. Sigh. That is all.

The WTF moment is kinda creepy...why is she looking at him w/ such love...and while she's nekkid?!

  5. ok - you ready for this?

my weekend involved a very long dream about you last night. super weird yes i know. i even woke up in the middle of the dream, went back to sleep and dreamed about it some more.

i got in my car with my hubby and drove out to see you - from florida - and for some reason it was much shorter than i thought a drive from fl to ca should be. and i remember thinking "she must live in east ca". LOL. And when I got there we had a conversation - played with your pet rabbit in your back yard. and then left. but i remember you had just adopted a new little baby from eth.

and when i was leaving i mentioned "hey if you ever come to florida ill hook you up with a nice place to stay" and you jumped in the car with your whole family and were like - lets go" hehehe.

it was super weird right? and the weird thing is that the dream was like uncomfortable - like it felt weird. perhaps because i was randomly dropping in on a bloggy friend ive never met. ha. anyway - thought id let you know - since it was part of my weekend and all.

  6. Kristin, what a great weekend! I used to work with convalescent homes, helping the Activity Directors, teaching them how to do treatment plans, progress notes, sensory stimulation, etc. I have such a soft spot for them. (elderly, not activity directors)

ChristineMarie, congrats on the awesome bowling streak! I bowl crappy when sober and strikes only when drunk. Go figure.

Picksee, sounds like you had an awesome vacation week! I've done that whole Memphis thing too!

Kim, LMAO at your dream!!! When my hubby moved to LA, he did the whole Orlando to LA driving. Glad your dream made it shorter! I promise, if you came out and pet my giant bunny it would not be weird at all! Many of my greatest friends are people I met online and later met IRL. And they keep coming back to see me, so I guess I didn't weird them out too much. ;) But uh, no more babies for us! :)

  7. Oh and re: the book reviews, a blog review is mandatory for those books I get to read before release date. But some reviews I'll do on books I really like that are available to read now.

  8. I went to the Mid-Atlantic Orphan Summit this weekend. It was great, and I gained a lot of insight into my role in the orphan crisis- particularly ongoing orphan care. I also breastfed my baby in public several times. Don't worry, I was very well covered by my nursing cover thingy. Not an exhibitionist.

Also, that is the best help wanted ad ever. Ever.

  10. I spent the weekend and most of this week without internet. But one of my three brothers came home from Oregon this weekend and my family got together to celebrate, I guess.
Loved the vintage ad even though its terrible. Ill hit something, but it may be the man who wrote that ad.
